We purchased a Yorkie - she is nine weeks old. She is very lovable, playful but the potty training is very hard. The couple we bought her from said she was paper trained as well, but she didn't seem to know what the paper was for. We have instead decided to train her to go outside. We have been doing a lot of research on the best route and what works. We have been taking her out immediately in the morning, after a nap, after playtime and after eating. The thing is it seems like we are always bringing her out and she still has a few accidents. We understand that it is cold outside so she doesn't want to be outside long for she is young. We do have a coat for her but we think her paws still get a bit cold. I like the idea of bringing her out as often as how old she is (i.e. two months old every two hours). Fingers crossed - I hope this works - thanks for the idea.

The puppy is away too young to go outside She may end up with pneumonia , frost bite on her tender feet and skin or worse
You need to puppy proof a small area such at a service porch or spare bathroom or provide a playpen and paper train her until the
weather gets better Take her to the paper every 1 to 2 hours and gien her a potty command , when she goes praise her. When you
cannot watch her put her in playpen or a sleeping crate. (I recommend small kennel cab). When the weather is good itcan take 2 weeks
to 8 weeks to totally housebreak. At her age she need three meals (or more if she is hypoglycemic) Bowel and bladder contol is very
weak until they hit 4 months.

I totally agree with Lee. They have wee pads that are even washable now, so you don't have to use paper if you didn't want to. Just don't take her outside where she could get sick, until the weather is better in the spring time, she's way to young.
Let us know how she's doing.
