How do I keep my puppy cool
Now that the days are getting warmer, I'm concerned about my puppy. I have a 3 month old Miniature Schnauzer who seems to be panting a lot.
I live on the top floor of a small building, and I have no air conditioning. It can get quite hot.
Is there anything I can do to keep Winston cool?
We only go for walks in the early morning and evening when it has cooled down, and he always has plenty of cool water from a drinking fountain.
I would appreciate any suggestions.

The only thing that I can suggest is wet the puppy down when it's hot. If your puppy has a kennel/crate you can put some ice in a plastic bag and put it in a pillow case and put it in her kennel/crate or in her bed. If you wet her down, don't use cold water, but lukewarm water is better.
hope that helps

I purchased a ProSelect Deluxe Thermostatic Crate Fan to attach to her wire crate. We are involved in Agility and it does get very hot at times at a Meet...the fan is great. Also, because we are outdoors a lot, she has a Solar Canopy that keeps her cool when in her crate. There are also Cool Beds and Vests you can wet down and place on your dog. If your schnauzer enjoys the water, a small kiddie pool you can set up in your kitchen or bathroom, is great. My little schnauzer was exactly 3 months when she first went swimming.
