Is there such a thing as too much walking for a puppy?

I have a 10 week old Mini Schnauzer. I see posted here and I've read, if you take your puppy on a long walk, he'll be nice a tired and get into less mischeif.
But how long is a long walk? He doesn't really seem interested in walking a lot.
and the poor little guy is exhausted....

    any ideas?

I was always told not to do too much walking with a very young dog. Maybe smaller but more frequent walks would be better.
Good luck ..playing lots of games may help too.

I too, have a Miniature Schnauzer. I did not take her out for any walks until she was 16 weeks and had all her shots. Then, and only then, we just walked down the street and back, gradually increasing the length of the walk as she got older. We kept her active by playing lots and lots of different games with her, both in the yard and home. We bought her a play tunnel and chute, as well as hoops to jump through, as we knew she was destined to go into agility when she got older.

She too, was a little reluctant to walk at first....but the key is to be patient. My dog came around and your dog will too. I mention going for a walk now, and she is ready to go. She however, is a little reluctant to wear her harness, and does not like it when I first put it on her, but once I hook her leash to it ...she's ready for her walk. We are currently up to 3 - 4 miles, and she is 2 years old.

Just like any training....start out slow and build up. We do our stretches before we go. It's really cute to watch her.

i have a 16 week old king Charles Cav. We take her to a local dog park "leash free". She plays and runs a lot and comes back to us when she is tired. I haven't taken her out in the street yet as she is still very small.
