Find a leash free park in your area. We don't take our dogs out on the street at all (cavs have no road sense) but there is a lovely fenced park maintained by our local council where the pups can run free and meet lots of other dogs.

Thank you for your reply. I have seen dog parks on TV & they look like really nice places for dogs to have fun & interact with each other. I don't know if there is one near here but I'm going to check into it. Thanks

Thanks for your reply. We live out in the country so anytime Teppi is out in the yard she will be on some type of leash. She's very small & will stay that way. It would be easy for a big hawk to fly down & take off with her so she will be constantly watched while out. Thanks for the info about distemper. I didn't know it was airborne. That's a bad thing to here. I've had several replies to my question so it seems like keeping her inside until all shots are given will be best for her. Thank you again.

Please do not leave Teppi outside by herself, always be with her. Like you said small dogs like Teppi is food for Hawks and Eagles, and other prey animals.

    just my 6 cents

Don't worry! Teppi will never be outside alone. We've also heard some wild dogs at night around here. I'm sure there are a lot of other animals that come around we don't know about. It would kill me if something happened to her. I plan on her being my best friend forever (as long as that turns out to be). I appreciate your 6 cents anytime.
