    Inspirational Story aboutVilla The Newfie

Villa, a black Newfoundland, was from Villas, New Jersey. Villa was a half grown puppy when during a severe blizzard, she started to bark from her dogrun. After several minutes she leapt over the five foot fence and ran across to the neighbors yard. The snow was so thick, that visibility was zero, and the winds were howling at 60 miles per hour. The neighbors 11 year old girl, Andrea Anderson, was out looking at the storm when the wind blew her across the yard. Unable to see, she had become stuck in a drift, and was unable to free herself. Villa heard her cries for help, escaped her cage, and found Andrea. Villa had to circle the child several times before she could manage to free herself from the drift. Villa, then led Andrea safely to her home.

Amazing! Dogs know. I had surgery recently and when I returned home, my dog never wants to leave my side. She is "nursing" me back to health. Dogs just know and go out of their way to help those in need.

I hope you're well MaryAnn, get your rest, and dogs are the best nurses.

Thanks Sarah and Jude. I appreciate the kind and thoughtful words and prayers. I am hoping to be back to my normal activities soon. My husband and my dog trainer friend has been walking my little gal and exercising her both physically and mentally. My friend has even been picking her up and taking her to her classes she teaches to be the "Demo Dog".... She tells me that everyone comments on how well behaved my little gal is and always does what she is told. All these kind and thoughtful sentiments from you all and everyone are making my recovery better. Thanks Again!!!!

I won't be able to be on the site for very long at a time...just now and then. It's difficult for me to type with my gal on my lap.
