    Schnauzer Bites for No Reason

I have two five month old female schnauzer puppies. One growls but never bites. The other has started snapping at me. We can be sitting on the couch and I can be petting her and she will snap at me for no reason. Then after she does it, it is like she is sorry for her behavior. I am not sure what is triggering this behavior and how to handle the situation. Any suggestions?

I suggest you enroll the dog in obedience training. Training is to train the owner how to handle their dogs. Dogs do not bite for no reason at all. It sounds to me that at this young age, this dog is the alpha dog, and this is the position You should have with your puppies.

IF you get one dog trained, the other one will follow.

When she is on your lap or you are petting her or giving her any kind of affection...and she growls or snaps...immediately put her down on the floor and ignore her. Turn away from her. She will realize when she does this kind of behavior she gets ignored.
