Let me say thank you to those who replied to my post. Our vet thinks that together w/arthritis and hip dysplasia, she may have either degenerative myelopathy or polyradiculoneuritis. We are giving her 20 mg of prednisonde and could, if we feel she needs it, go up to 40mgs a day--20 in am and 20 in pm along w/tramadol for pain relief. I am reluctant to increase her prednisone because of the side effects. We give her prednisone in am and pain pill at night if we feel she needs it. We have wood floors which are a nightmare for her. We have gotten some carpeting but need to pick up a few more pieces to cover more area. We have enough in the living area where her other bed is. We use a rolled up sofa throw under her belly to help with walking & going up the 2 stairs we have. I have been reading up on homemade diets due to prednisone weight gain. Any other ideas for her comfort will be most appreciated. PS--forgot to mention that we also massage her regularly too.
