  1. Sorry to hear about what happened, but glad you, your husband, and the dogs (and their owners) are all okay. Even here in the states, like everywhere I'm afraid, there are some people who just don't have any common sense around dogs.

There are times when I am out walking with my little dog and we exit the park area and head down this path - we are met by a cyclist at full speed trying to hang on to 4 dogs an 4 different leashes.

Glad to hear though that Jax is doing great in his training. I wish you the best. If there is anything else I can help you with...please let me know. Take care.

  3. Thanks for writing back. Happy to hear your Jax has a great doggy friend that he enjoys playing with. Is Cass the same type of breed as your dog?

My little female Schnauzer (barely 15 pounds) has lots of doggy friends, but mostly enjoys her Golden Retriever male friend (nearly 60 pounds). They do Agility together as well as do their Therapy visits together. Every other Monday when we all go and visit at the Nursing Home...all the residents say...Yea!!! Here comes "Mutt and Jeff"...because of their different sizes. They too, love each other as your Jax and Cass does.

Take care and keep training and socializing your Jax. Talk to you real soon.

hi maryann just thought i would let you know cass was ok today back to normal running and catching ball with jax running alongside her.

maryaa i think your right it probably was the little girl because usually cass is out with dad or mum and dad ive never seen the little girl with them before and she ran off with her ball which is hers and the little girl was throwing it and usually cass never leaves when jax is about .when cass is out she is aalways looking for jax so much so that one night she walked into one of our neighbours houses looking for him.the little girls i would say are around 7.
  6. Thanks for clarifying. The little girl could very easily of upset Cass's routine. Is the little girl not usually around when the dad usually throws the ball? How old are the two girls?

mary ann cassis dad went aftter her because he was worried she had never done anything like this before it was as if something had spooke her infact when he got back with cass he was very worried and thought it better to get her home to a safe enviromentthe reason he went ahed was 2 of the litle girls friends were approaching and casis mum said they usually end up falling out over who throws the ball as the little girl had been doing i think if anything cass was fed up of the little girl and i think expected jax to follow because she is very fond of him when her dad throws the ball for cass they both run together but jax always lets her get the ball even though he could have and she always looks for him perhaps her routine was upset because the little girl was ther what do you think
  8. Am I understanding this correctly.... Cass's dad threw the ball - Cass caught it and ran away with it into the woods - Dad chased Cass - and when they came out - Cass and dad filed home - leaving the rest of you stunned.

Where does the little girl come into the picture? Or was she just close to you and Cass's mom?

If this is what happened....I suggest you ask what exactly did the Cass's dad say or do to Cass to make Cass file back home. I'm hoping he did not use negative (harsh) punishment, as we (as pet parents) need to only use Positive reinforcement if we want our dogs to listen to us and be a well behaved and balanced dog and member of our family.
