1 cup uncooked oatmeal
1 tablespoon bouillon granules [Beef, Chicken or vegetable]
1 egg beaten
1 ½ cups hot water
¾ cups cornmeal [doesn’t matter if it’s a fine grind or not]
3 Cups Whole Wheat Flour

In a large bowl pour hot water over oatmeal and bouillon granules. let stand 5 minutes.
Stir in cornmeal and egg. Mix will. Add flour ½ cup at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Knead 3-4 minutes, adding more flour if necessary to make a very stiff dough. Pat or roll dough out to ½ inch thickness. Cut into bone shapes and place on a greased sheet.
Bake at 350F [180C] for 50 minutes.

You do not always have to use Whole Wheat Flour. Barley works good, the Mexican corn flour called masa harina [corn flour] will work good. Pea flour.
You can also substitute ½ cup of the hot water for ½ cup of plain yogurt for a more tender cookie, or ½ cup of molasses.

Check with your vet to see if the ingredients are good for your dog before you bake them.
