clippers( tips in clipping dog's fur)

I have just started grooming my cocker spaniels, and I will get a new set of clippers and they are good for about 3 months, and then they just stop cutting, have had the blades sharpened and still will not cut, three different brands this has happended with I dont understand what I am doing wrong, they are oiled like they are suppose to be, and the lose hair is brushed out. Does anyone have any ideas?

I groom my Westies and our Springer. I bought a professional Andis clipper, AGCsuper2. I shampoo the dogs, dry them or let them dry, brush them, then clip. I've been using the clippers for three years for without problem. Before I got these clippers I had some Oster A5's, which I also used on the horses. One of the kids is still using these and they are close to 20 yeas old. My guess is that you are either using "pet clippers" or not using the correct number blade for the job. I will admit I have cheated on the bath at times, but always brush the dogs well before clipping. Dusty, dirty dog coats are hard on clippers. Hope this helps, Molly
