Feeding My 4 Puppies

Hello,
My pekingese had 4 puppies; part pekingese and shih tzu. They are absolutely adorable. They are 6 weeks and 3 days old as of today: 6-18-10. Is it ok to start feeding them dry puppy food mixed with water? I tried this a few days ago and they really seemed to like it but it is still hard for them to eat at this time. As you can probably tell, I never had puppies before. Can anyone give me some sound advice?

Are you using hot water and letting it sit until it is soft?
At 6 weeks they should have no trouble eating it prepared this way
