    Eating Real Food

I have found that even the fussiest of my yorkies will eat real food. You can even try baby food- the turkey, beef, lamb.
Do not feed her cat food - it is too high in fat and protein, therefore too rich for a dog.

    Good Luck!
This is the one area I haven't been able to do as well as I have wanted to do.
My poodle refuses to eat dog food. PERIOD! I didn't start out that way and until recently he would eat a little dog food from time to time, but he just refuses now. I feed him mostly chicken, but he gets filet mignon when we have it and and sometimes a pork chop. I try to feed him vegetables, but he is also very fusy about those. He will eat green beans and occasionally a few others, but carrots he doesn't like and as well as most all other veggies. It has been a real trial dealing with him. If I have tried to let him go hungry unless he eats, he still won't eat and then he vomits. Not very pleasant. The biggest problem I have had is controlling his weight on regular food. I do give him a supplement especially for his joints as he is having a luxating patella which must be fixed. In the mean time he can't exercise and he is has gained some weight. He is not obese, but definitely overweight. He is, also, no longer a puppy as he will be 6 in September.

PS I even tried baby food when he was younger. No Way was he eating that. I have thrown away more food. The only time he wants some dog food is when I foster and then he wants to eat what I give the foster.

My cavalier king charles puppy is also a fussy eater. The only food he now eats is something called Appalaws. It is chicken fillets, and comes in beef, tuna, chicken, turkey and rabbit flavours. Lots of dogs don't eat dry kibbles, why don't you try canned or tinned foods? I hope this helps you and your dog.

    Hi Lexi,

Exactlly!!! I am so glad someone else is praising this "Blue" food, I have posted so many times about this food. I had stomach issues with my little Chi's when I got them from AZ, switched to Blue and a miracle happened. No bloody, mucous stools and this was after Vet Visits and antibiotics, I was so frustrated and went online and found Blue and they love it, no more problems.

I just picked up my new baby Yorkie girl today from the breeder and she was feeding Iams but I will very slowly start adding the Blue. She is so precious, only 1 lb and 12 oz. She will be tiny, I will have her on the dry also and she is such a tiny little thing I am going to start brushing her teeth tomorrow well no, just get her used to the taste of doggie toothpaste for now on my finger.

    Take Care,

    Talk to you later,

    Mia

My Yorkie is also having eating issues with his kibble and if I want him to eat real fast is by mixing small pieces of cheese or boiled turkey fillet. I usually hide this under the kibble and he eats all in seconds.
