Well, I signed my Yorkie up for the obedience class held at ou local Pet Smart store. The dog owners are working with 'clickers'--so we are learning when to 'click' them for the maxium response from the dogs. Seems to be working well. Taffy 'comes' much better now; whenever he starts in the right direction toward me I 'click', and he hurries for his little treat--sometimes he gets tired of the treats, but responds anyway--Yay! We're working on 'sit' with a hand signal--well, Taff knew the 'down' command position before the new class started. Now, I'm trying to get him to 'sit' with a command, a hand signal, & a 'click' before he decides to slide 'down flat' onto the rug. Ha! He's finally getting the hang of it because he wants to play 'fetch' SO badly that he will get 'sit' correct about 3 out of 5 times now after he brings his toy football back. Once, he gets 'sit' poture correct, I praise him, and throw the ball again.
Will see what happens this weekend!
