Unhappy my yorkie and the chronic vomitting yellow bile..on and off in life

saturday night my beauty of 3 years young, did'nt eat all day-then around dinner time, she vomitted her usual yellow bile that she does every now and then..only this time there were red droplets in it !!! Being saturday late afternoon-there were no vets open-Again in the middle of the night she vomitted a brown bile...the good news is...the next day she ran around the park as if the night before never happened!!plus she ate some fresh chicken-so thank god she seems OK now-Id appreciate some knowledgeable input about the yellow bile-Ive heard it is common in yorkies...something with their pancreas?? I would truly love to learn what the best diet and nutrition is , tha I could impart to my sweetheart...as she means the world to me and I just cant seem to find the right food for her to settle in to...I give her fresh chicken-she doesnt like rice-sometimes some nice fresh beef...Any suggestions?

I would encourage you to contact your Vet and tell him about. If the dog only vomited the bile, that is serious enough, but you also noticed there were red droplets in it which could be blood.

Let us know what the Vet says...

Yes Sarah, Exactly, any thing unusual with my pups I am on the phone to my Vet and he is so good always to offer advice and tell me what I need to do. I hope full throttle has followed through on your advice and contacted the Vet. My Vet is 30 miles from me but I will be on the road in a heartbeat if my pups need anything. Those red droplets are a cause for concern. The first thing I would ask is what food are you feeding. Hope they come back and talk to us.

    Mia

Hello fullthrottle I would suggest that get your vet's emegency number just in case things like this happen.

Also, I agree with Mia it would be better to contact your vet ASAP as soon as you notice something wrong with your dog.

Please let us know what the vet says and how your dog is doing.

Fullthrottle, I have two beautiful Yorkies and have chosen to prepare their food. My vet recommended "Home-Prepared Dog & Cat Diets, The Healthful Alernative by Strombeck, DVM, PHD." It contains several fantastic recipes to choose from which include vital vitamins and minerals, or you can go to "balanceit.com" which has online menus that include suppliments. This website was also recommended by my vet. I was looking for an easier way to purchase vitamins and found that this website also offers a variety of homemade recipes for animals. My dogs (Beanie and Bella) love their meals!!!

My Yorkie Dolly just turned 1 year. Last couple of mornings in early AM she also has been vomiting yellow bile. She seems to feel alright, plays alot but will be taking her to vet. I have read that this is normal for yorkies, I can live with it, and my hubby and I feel so bad when she gets like the dry heaves. She is our baby. I will relay what the vet says after Thursday the 18 of November.

It is good you are having a physical to rule out possible health concerns. Most yellow bile is caused when a dog is hungry. If it occurs in earrly the morning hours or the middle of the night
you might try giving a small meal a couple of hours before going to bed or if his dinner meal is early (5 pm) feed him around 7 pm .
