Dog's Third Eye
After noticing a raised red lump in my girl "Bella" left eye, I made a trip to the vet, fearing the worst.
The Veterinarian examined her eye thoroughly and told me that there was a problem with her third eye lid. Apparently the cartlidge that holds the third eye lid in place has weakened for some reason or another, so at present it just shows as a small lump. If the cartlidge should weaken completely then the third eye lid will give way completely. It will present itself as a 1cm pink film nearly covering the entire eye. The Vet assured me that it is in no way painful and if it does weaken and give way completely, it is quite a common procedure to operate and fix the problem. But as yet, it is no way near that point, there is a 50/50 chance as to whether it will weaken even more and all I can do is wait and see and hope that the cartlidge get's stronger and keeps the third eye lid in place.
Has anyone ever had this problem with their animals? Apparently it is more common with dogs who have the more bulging eye (Bella is a Tibetan Spaniel with a slight bulge of the eye) more like a Pug, Peke or Cav Spaniel.
Anybody have any thoughts, opinions or advice?

Hey Guys,
I've been waiting patiently for a reply/advice/opinion on my question. You can't tell me all the people (dog owners) who subscribe to this forum have not come across this problem or a perineal hernia (another question I posted some time ago). Please, please, please has ANYONE come across either of these problems and if so what was your experience?
