    border terrier stares intently

    Hello

I wondered if anyone out there could give some advice. My border terrier is 3 and a half years old.
He has always been in good health, but over the last couple of months we have noticed changes in his behaviour. He stares intently at nothing - the wall, the floor, a cupboard, the fridge.... absolutely anything. He stares for a long time, and doesn't always hear when you call his name to stop him staring.
He is also restless and won't settle, he used to love snoozing on a bean bag on the living room, but now he paces up and down for ages before he lays down, sometimes he won't settle at all, and just paces.

Is there something wrong? And what can I do to help him?

Thank you so much for reading and helping x

2 reasons; 1. Your dog is bored, and needs exercise perhaps. 2. Animals see Spirits that we can't. They have an amazing 6th sense.

You might want to check for rats or mice. A Terrier with hunt drive will sit for a very long time staring at an area he can smell a rat I have a Silky that will stare at an area and when the rat comes out she wil go for the rat and the rat dose not see it coming. The pacing can also be part of the hunt.

Consider taking your dog to a vet. Mild seizures can take this form....
