Whatever food you choose..DO NOT EVER FEED THE AMOUNT THAT IS RECOMMENDED ON THE PACKAGE. This is almost always way too much. My Vet even told me that, and I buy it from them. Also...Vet's do not get a commission for selling that food you talked about. They recommend that particular one because it is very bland. I have my dog weighed regulary and we (my Vet's office and me) keep close tabs on her weight, as well as her shape...to check if she is developing a layer over fat. Every dog is different and requires different amounts of fat in their diet....There is no hard fast rule.

HI - I am now feeding my little schnauzer "Nutro Ultra Holistic Superfood." It does not have
Barley which I thought upset her stomach. It has brown rice and only 7.00% fat and 17% Protein.
I also cook chicken or turkey and mix it with brown or white rice. If she acts like she is going to
be sick, I feel her canned Iams low residue or Science Diet I/D canned for a few days. She seems
to be doing a lot better on this diet. Have found a treat by Smoakhouse called chicken chips that
    only have 2% min. fat.

Hi to all - Just an update on what I am feeding my mini schnauzer. We now have another mini schnauzer, one year old. I feed them both the same. I am feeding them
Wellness CORE Low fat and California Naturals Rice & Chicken Low Fat. They are doing great and don't seem to have any more problems. Mary Ann I have looked
for the Science Diet T/D's you talked about and can't seem to find them. I have tried all the Vets around here and they do not carry them. Can you order them
    anywhere?

Hi, I use Halo dog food for our 3 little dogs. It is all natural, has pieces of fruit and veggies in it and all human grade ingrediants.
    Hope this helps.
