skin rash

My 15 mth. old female scottie (Fiona) is constantly licking her paws and neck areas. The vet. gave her a steroid shot and antibiotcs, and put her a duck formula kibble.
What should I use to ease the skin redness and scratching. Does any else have this problem?

Yes my retriever has dandruff...how do I help her??? She suffers from skin allergies on top of this!

Brushing your Retriever daily will help tremendously with the dandruff issue.

I have been told by licensed dog professionals that keeping the hair (fur) shorter so the sun can penetrate the dog's skin better, helps a great deal.

Thanks MarryAnn, we brush her regularly but will do it daily... She seems to be losing alot of hair too and I'm wondering if it's not a lack of something in her diet? She gets pellets & mince or homemade meals.

I have a dear friend who has a Golden Retriever and he sheds a lot, more during certain times of the year. Just check the ingredients on the pellets (I assume you are referring to kibble, correct?) you are feeding and make sure it is not loaded with fillers (grain and meat by-products).
