No, not all Jude. I wasn't sure where I should put it, but wanted to get it out quickly for all those folks who didn't know about this.

Thanks for putting this topic in a much better place.

    Hello Mia

I've heard that IAMS is not as good as it were before. I think they found some ingredient that contains salmonella in this dog food.

Sharda was the one who told me about this.

Thanks Jude09, the reason I asked is because I had a can that I fed my daughters dog because that is what she feeds her and I was out of the normal Blue Buffalo which I always feed them so I mixed a little bit into my girls food just for a little treat. Big mistake! My two small Chihuahua's and my young Yorkie got sick with not watery stools but very soft and messy. I was stumped as to why they were ill because they were not around any other dogs or had not been anywhere. The Iams was the only different thing in their life, it was only a very small small dab but something must have been in it. My older Chi and my Golden also had a bit but they didn't get ill. Maybe their immune system fought off what ever it was.

They are all better now and I guess I learned something, I will never ever buy Iams again. I will make sure I never run out of Blue Buffalo.

hello Mia just want to ask, when you tried changing their dog food did you feed them small portions of the new dog food first or did you feed them the new dog food without any mix?

I hope I'm making any sense. You see there are times when dogs can get upset stomachs because of new dog food. If you want to introduce a new type of dog food to your dog then

you have to do it slowly and gradually.

No Jude I didn't change their Blue Buffalo dry, just put a dab of Iams canned mixed in. I always give everybody dry and mix a bit of canned in because they seem to eat it better and don't dilly dally, they eat and I pick it up if they don't finish after awhile. Then they are finished till the evening meal.

I am convinced it was something in the Iams that just went against my little ones. They are all between 2 and 3 pounds. I will never give them anything different ever again, if by chance I would run out of the canned Blue I will feed the dry Blue with a bit of just water. But you can be sure I will never run out again. Actually they don't even need the moist, I just give it bacause they love it that way. Thanks for your comment.

    Mia

Yes! Mia....adding a small amount of warm water to dry kibble is a nice change for our dogs.
