Be careful with natural sweetners, as well....they are not really all that great for any living creature. There are several dog recipes that do not call for any sweetners. If you choose to make your own...choose these types of recipes.

@hi MaryAnne, Can you help me identify which dog food recipe that don't have any sweeteners.
@hello Jude09, Well, yes, feel free, you can move this thread to a more appropriate one, but will the conversations remain.
My little Chiwienie has put on weight and I have just changed her feed to one that is organic with no corn, wheat, or meat by-products. I talked with a store manager who helped me when I was looking for food to change her to. He said that people were telling him that they could see results a short time after they started their dogs on this food. He also reminded me to be careful about the amounts I gave and measure instead of using just a fistful. I do feed her split amounts morning and evening, but neither of us is getting enough exercise. I have not found sugar in any of the food or treats I give her. I think it is just the food I was feeding her had stuff in it that does tend to go toward fat. I'll try to remember to let y'all know how the new food works out.
Bambino Bordagol.....I would be happy to. Currently my daughter-in-law has the Doggy Cookbook....I will get it from her this weekend and send info your way.
