Hi and welcome everyone!
This is sharda with a healthy pet food newsletter update.
With the release of my dog food related newsletter, from worst to best, I’m sure that a lot of you must be scratching your heads are confused.
Can you really trust commercial dog food brands? Is there another process or another method that we can use to feed our dogs?
I want my dogs to be healthy but I don’t have the time to cook for them, is there another process that I can use?
Well, these are some of the common questions that I get asked everyday and I don’t want to confuse you any further so let me tell you about some of the methods that you can do or you can use to prepare a natural meal for your dog if you’re all fed up with these commercial dog food brands.
Let’s start shall we?
HEALTHY PET FOOD – THE ALTERNATIVE TO COMMERCIAL DOG FOOD BRANDS
HOLISTIC DOG FOOD - CREATING YOUR OWN GOOD DOG FOOD
In all honesty, if you want to provide your dogs with the best pet nutrition out there then your best bet is to make your own dog food or to result to homemade dog foods. Homemade dog foods can benefit your dog because you yourself know what is contained in the dog food that you’re making.
A lot of people think that creating dog food can be difficult. Honestly, the difficult part in creating your own dog food is knowing what you can and what you can’t feed your dogs.
If you got this all figured out I believe that you can really create something amazing and healthy for your dogs. A good dog food diet contains of 30% veggies, 30% starch (gluten free of course) and 40% meat.
We all know that any form of GLUTEN can cause dog allergies so it’s best that you avoid these ingredients when creating your own dog food.
With these stats in mind I believe that you can do a lot of things if you do decide to make your own dog food.
Here are some foods that you should never use when creating your homemade dog food;
* Grapes
* Raisins
* Onions
* Garlic
* Chocolate
* Artificial sweeteners or artificial fats
Also, make sure that you don’t season your homemade dog food with too much salt as it can be bad for your dogs.
There are even people who use BARF or RAW diet in feeding their dogs.
HOLISTIC DOG FOOD – BARF DIET
BARF is commonly known as Bones and Raw Food Diet or Biologically Appropriate Raw Food.
BARF is all about feeding dogs (and cats) properly with all natural dog food. That would mean properly according to BARF proponents who say that you need to feed a dog the diet it was evolved to eat, bone and raw foods, NOT grains etc.
You can add supplements, but other than that, Mother Nature's best is what supposedly works well for our canine companion’s dog nutrition – who evolved from WOLVES.
BARF diet is about feeding a biologically appropriate all natural dog food that is made up of raw whole foods like those eaten by their ancestors. This would include muscle meat, bone, fat, organ meat and vegetable materials and any other foods that mimic what the wild ancestors ate.
BARF diet isn't about duplicating what wolves ate in case you are wondering; it is about getting as close as possible to what they ate – in other words mimicking their diet.
What BARF diet aims for is to provide our dogs with a diet combined with an environment that maximizes their best health and dog nutrition. What that means to someone who feeds BARF is feeding a biologically appropriate all natural dog food diet rather than a natural diet.
It does seem a little complicated at first, as is anything when you first try something new. However, if you do your research properly and thoroughly, it isn't hard to do.
So, I really hope that these 2 tips and processes can open you up to different ideas on how you can feed your dog.
Remember that commercial dog food brands are not the only pet food that you can give your dog.
I hope that you learn a lot from today’s newsletter update.
All the best and take care
Warmly,

Hi Sharda,
I've enjoyed your newsletters for quite awhile now and this if my first post. On the newsletter of the 7 worst dog foods, I SO AGREE! Kind of like the 7 deadly sins for our canine kids.
The 2 that you have on your best list I've never seen or heard of here in central Okla. But the others bad 7 I have and never have fed them to my any of my cocker spaniels. I have 3 now, Mom, Dad and a Son from their first litter. I just couldn't bare to part with him. He's a great combination of his parents.
My problem right now is..I do demos for a company at Wal-Mart and today I'm doing a dog food promotion of Kibbles N Bits "Bistro style" in chicken or beef "FLAVOR". I love how they word things. There is NO meat what so ever in this. It's all filler crap. I supposed to let people see the different colors and textures of the kibble. Give me a break...do you think dogs really can see and care about that? Yes, if it smells good and taste good to them, they'll eat it. But mine can go out to the cow pasture and nibble on a cow patty, but does that make it "good" for them? Are they getting everything they need? NOT! I have a really hard time promoting something that I can't believe in for feed my dogs personally. There is nothing at these chain stores that I would feed my dogs. It has to have real meat in the first ingredient and with no corn, wheat or soy in it. You don't see dogs and cats out grazing in the fields. I would like your opinion on how to approach some of these situations. If it weren't for the low price of today's dog food and the coupons I have to give, I don't think I would sell much at all. Maybe as bird feed or something. LOL
The store has started carrying a new one by Purina One (I know on the Bad list), but this one is Purina One Beyond, and the listing is pretty good. The price not so, $7.47 for a 3.5lb. bag. I saw it last week at PetsMart (where I buy my dog food) on special for $6.99. Their website says it comes in a bigger bag, but I haven't seen it yet. I thought you might check it out and see what you think.
Thanks for letting me get this off of my chest before I go to work and try and promote this stuff.
