Just received a yorkie male pup (600 g at 8 weeks). Any idea of formula to calculate adult weight? He's cute and a compact puppy.
Help appreciated. xx

I don't believe there is a formula per se. What size was your yorkies' parents?
My son and his wife have a Yorkie, whereas the mother was 4 pounds and the father was a Teacup....so naturally we thought this little guy would also be small and less than 5 pounds, but he turned out to be long and weighs 9 pounds - fully grown. And he is not overweight by any means. We can feel his ribs just fine.
SO.... it is hard to say what size your puppy will be when he grows up. Did you get him from a breeder? If so, they may know. Otherwise, I would ask your Vet on their thoughts. The Vet may be able to project how big he'll be after examining him.
Does it really matter, anyhow?
I have found the same sort of situation with Papillon puppies. Once in a while a large one comes along that is bigger than both parents together (you could even add the whole litter as well as both parents). Someone has said that it is a throwback to the European type. I would not know.
