Hi! My girl Mia is 8 and a half months old and I'm starting to get a bit worried about the amount of time she spends sleeping. We keep all the doors open in the house so she can come in and out as she pleases, and we have a reasonable size backyard for her to play. She's got toys in the backyard and she's got her special spots where she can go digging. I take her out at least once a day (I try twice a day when possible) and we usually go for a 30-60mins walk with an extra 30mins chasing the ball at the dog park.

But Mia sleeps a lot. I work part time (20hrs a week) so I'm home most of the time, and although she likes to follow me around the house I find she spend most of her time in her bed. She doesn't really play with her toys outside. If she's not sleeping, she's just lying on the floor looking around. She's got a ton of energy when we go out for a walk but as soon as we get home she sleeps. And at about 8.30-9pm, she takes herself to bed and sleeps all night. Is this normal? Is she getting bored, or depressed, or lonely? I like that she is not too demanding as I'm about to have a baby and will be very busy with a newborn, but I'm worried about my baby dog...
