help, bath time is a power struggle

My Bichon (Simon) is 4 years old. I got him when he was 2. He's a great loving playful guy, except when it comes to bath time. He loves getting wet when we're at the lake, or when the sprinkler is on, but he HATES his baths. I have to tie him in the tube or I can't keep him in the tube. Any ideas or suggestions on how to make this time more tolerable/likeable for us both?

I suggest you quit giving him a bath and give him showers instead. Get in the shower with him, first clean yourself, and then wash the dog. It works...
