    very nervous

My Nanook is extremely nervous around other dogs, and we have been socializing her since she was six months old. She also has the nasty habit of rolling in other dog feces, digusting, we have a field beside our house, and in the spring and fall the geese arrive. She won't leave the goose poop alone, how do we deal with this or is she lacking something. Sharon

    HiSharon,
Yes that is very disgusting for sure, I would keep her tied close to the house or deck whatever you have untill the geese fly south. How old is she now? Hopefully she will outgrow some of this puppyness.

    Good Luck,

    Mia

Hi Sharon, If Nanook is just rolling in the poop, well that's a dog thing, however, is if she is eating the gooses poop, she is lacking a mineral or vitamins in her diet. She may need a supplement... Here is a list of nutrients that red meat gives [goose meat is considered red meat]

Red meat is a source of iron. Red meat also contains protein, levels of creatine, minerals such as zinc and phosphorus, and vitamins such as niacin, vitamin B12, thiamin and riboflavin.[5] Red meat is the richest source of Alpha Lipoic Acid, a powerful antioxidant.[6]

What does Nanook do around other dogs to make you think she is nervous around them?

I make Nanook her food, I use only chicken or beef, with veggies starch, and I add ground egg shells, whey powder, parsley. corn meal. Her meats are baked in unsalted beff or chicken broth. As far as her nervouness around other dogs, we have as yet to figure out and she will be 2 in February. Thanks Sharon
