My dog sucks on my other dogs ears.

I wrote in last year because my Schnauzer was sucking his thumb( paw).
He still does this occaisionly but his thing now is to suck on my other Schnauzers ears, he makes them all wet and it is giving her a problem where she keeps shaking her head, but she also encourages him to do it, I have tried putting stinky stuff on her ears but it did not work.I try scolding him and the minute my back is turned he's back at it, please some of you dog experts out there tell me what I can do.
And I'm glad to be back on the forum.

give her a pacifier, apparently this baby was taken from the mother to early...

Don't discipline her for this, encourage her with her pacifier and she will grow out of it naturally... she needs a mothers nurturing... She'll be ok.

If you haven't already have the older dog's ears checked for infection. Many dogs will lick the infected ears, this is what they would do in the wild
A dog can smell infections long before you would see them. The head shaking is a sign of ear infections as is her wanting him to keep licking.

Thankyou for your suggestions, I dont think a pacifier would work because he would have it eaten in no time at all, I took Lee's advice and took her to the vet and she does have an ear infection, for which I have medication, I still haven't solved the problem of how to stop him licking her ears, the vet suggested I command him to" leave it" and if he does not then seperate them for a few minutes, and be consistant with this. I shall try it and see how it goes.

Once the infection is gone he will probably stop the licking. If it starts up again recheck the ears. The licking is normal . He could smell the infection and was trying to help his friend . When you give the verbal correction try to make your tone of voice deeper and very firm.
