I'm very sure that today's dog obedience training newsletter will certainly interest you because we will be talking about dogs that just WON’T OBEY you!

So, let's look at some of the reasons why some dogs have trouble with dog obedience training.

Let's start shall we?

DOG OBEDIENCE TRAINING - MANAGING THE DOG THAT JUST WON’T OBEY

While most dog owner or dog trainer and his dogs find they get along quite well, in some instances you may find that you have a dog that just simply will not obey. This can be quite distressing and make it difficult to get on with the dog obedience training process.

Good quality dog training resources can provide you with a great amount of assistance in this area.

Whether it is a puppy or an adult dog, many dog owners experience the same problem: their dog simply will NOT obey them.

One of the first things that should be understood about dogs that many people simply are not aware of is the fact that dogs have an inherent desire to obey.

Dogs wish to please their masters in every way.

Consider for a moment how important it is for you to please the special people in your life.

You will likely go out of your way in order to please your life partner or spouse. You will do everything possible to help your children and you will do anything it takes to please your boss.

Dogs are much the same way. They will do everything possible to please you. This is because dogs are pack animals. Within a pack there is a definitive hierarchy of power that begins with the Alpha dogs and runs down to the last dog within the pack.

Alpha dogs are the most powerful dogs in the pack. These are the dogs that eat first, will mate first and control the other dogs. Due to the fact that this is an inherent characteristic, dogs must have Alpha dogs.

If there is not an Alpha dog, then the dog will be completely disrupted.

Much like children who have been unsupervised, they will naturally begin to misbehave. In the event that a dog is particularly willful and there are no Alpha dogs present, then he will naturally assume that he is the Alpha dog. When this occurs there can be real problems.

In most instances, this is the root of a dog who will not obey their owner. It should be understood that dogs do not have a real concept of humans. They think in terms of prey, enemies and other dogs. When a dog looks at a human, he does not see a human. Instead he sees a dog that just smells a bit different.

The question of who the Alpha dog is must be resolved.

However, if your dog understands that you are the Alpha dog and you exert your authority, then it will be easier to introduce dog obedience training.

If, however, your dog assumes that he is the Alpha dog then the ability to control your dog will be out of your hands. The importance of assuming the Alpha role in your dog’s life cannot be stressed enough.

If you are submissive with your dog, there will continue to be dog obedience problems. You must assume the leadership role, assuming your dog’s trust and respect.

When your dog understands that he can respect and trust you, he will naturally obey you.

One thing that must be pointed out is that when you are dog training and is the process of assuming the Alpha role, you should do so slowly.

This is particularly important if your dog is dominant or aggressive. If you suddenly begin to display Alpha behavior with a dog who has assumed the Alpha role, then he will naturally see this as a challenge.

As a result, he or she may choose a course of action that is aggressive. It is also important that you know your dogs. If your dog has just recently become part of your family, you should spend some time getting to know the dog.

Also, bear in mind that assuming the alpha role position or dog obedience training doesn’t give you the right to maltreat your dog or be rough on him.

Respect is the keyword in assuming this role and succeeding in dog training . Hitting your dog and shouting at them will not prove anything to them.

So, remember that assuming the alpha role can be a slow process but you simply have to respect and be firm on your dog to accomplish this.

I hope you learned a lot of things in dog obedience training newsletter
