DESCRIPTION
Commonly known as "monkey dogs", the Affenpinscher is a relative of the Terriers. They're known because of their thick coat of fur that's seen as longer, bearded-like tufts.
Although this breed is small in size it's not delicate. They can weigh about 7-8 pounds and are 10-15 inches in size.
TEMPERAMENT
The Affenpinscher is curious, extremely playful and is curious by nature. In a way, this breed is similar to the Terrier, except for the fact that the Affpenischer is better in socializing and in getting along with other pets.
Although this breed is responsive to commands, they have a tendency to be mischievous.
HEALTH AND LONGEVITY
Affenpischers are quite healthy although some are prone to respiratory problems, especially in warm weather. They're also likely to get fractures and slipped striffle.
They can live about 10 -12 years.
CARE REQUIRED
This dog's coat should be brushed and combed regularly. This breed is considered as a non-shedding dog.
Some Affenpischers are difficult to housetrain.
SUITABILITY
This dog will do well in any ENVIRONMENT although warm weather can really cause respiratory problems with this breed.
they can do well without a yard and they enjoy being in a family. Although friendly, small children should be taught how to respect and approach this breed.
